Starting in July of 2023 with a Brooklyn Grey BMW G81 Touring, the car arrived from London into Miami with a team of 4 eager to change the game. Dylan, Gina, & Jake were led by their fearless leader Rhys for what was about to be 6-months of the biggest build of the year and the sleepless nights to go along with it. Now, anyone who knows the car scene these days understands just how “big” you have to go to get everyone’s attention– luckily for this team, they simply will not stop at mediocrity. The team called on their friends at CSF & Air Lift to keep not only the engine temps low and the performance high, but to lay this family hauler out in the Florida sun properly on air suspension. Of course the factory colors are never enough, so Khaki Green from Inozetek was the first outfit of choice for the debut.

If you didn’t know already, the team at R44 & MHC have a tendency to make some carbon fiber parts from time to time– so every panel, including the roof, was removed and replaced with the carbon alternative. Although the power additions came from PSI in Orlando, we’ll take the credit for it being in Florida since nothing stays stock for longer than break in miles here. One critical piece to this puzzle was the ECU, and since the crunch was on for MPact in the Pocono’s, Rhys decided to overnight ship Dylan and the ECU to their tuner back in the UK and return with it revamped.

While Dylan ran a quick errand back to his house, Danny and the team at Slammered got to work on lowering this behemoth properly– With the help of Turn 14′s lighting-fast shipping times, this wagon was on the ground, literally, within 3 days and able to stop the show at Cars and Coffee Palm Beach. For the summer debut, the R44 team chose our 20″ Vossen Forged S21-02 finished in Brushed Gloss Clear to help bring some light to the one-off EBC stopping power.

If you ever want to understand the true meaning of Nooks and Crannies, ask Jake from Base Wraps how tedious Rhys is when it comes to wrap installation. The M3 Touring had the doors, hatch and hood off the car before the first lunch break.

Once the car had those small modifications completed, it was off to MPact to start the Coast to Coast tour– The R44 team doesn’t like to take any shortcuts, so they started much further north on the coast to get the full effect, besides it was Sea Turtle Season in South Florida anyway.

After making it’s rounds at Turn 14, IND, shop here shop there and shop over there, the calendar months flipped over to October and the team found themselves on driving down PCH with what felt like a stock car. Luckily, boredom is the only person not making this intercontinental trip. If you follow Rhys on his social platforms, you know that he want’s the max amount of power in everything, even the shop car. That being said, down he went to Studio RSR, found some extra room in the engine bay and made some calls to build the world’s first Single Turbo setup for the factory platform and Mr. Tom Wrigley went to work. We all want big power in a small package, but this Precision Turbo setup quite literally was fabricated in the UK and stuffed in Tom’s suitcase at Heathrow. While it was down for some open heart surgery, why not change the color of the car, right? And while we’re at it, let’s add more carbon (if these guys could make a carbon fiber dip stick they would) and dress up the engine bay with gifts from Golden Wrench. When you were kid, who didn’t think every car need LED’s and the most satisfying Paddle Shifter’s ever, thank you JQWerks for making this childhood dream a clicky reality.

And if you forgot where you were reading this blog post, of course the shoes were changed for SEMA, and Carbon? Of Course. We decided to debut our all-new Vossen Forged S21-08 in a Patina Gold to make this car pop if it didn’t already (if you’re wanting the same pop, this wheel could be yours in early ’24) After those were done, it was off to cruise through the desert one last time before the debut at the CSF Booth, front and center at the 2023 SEMA Show.

Fast forward a few more weeks and the station wagon was headed back to Europe for Essen Motor Show– We’re not sure how many of you have booked flights for cars recently, but First-Class, Extended Leg Room, and 5-Checked Bags doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface for cost, let alone the meal isn’t included…

The car made a quick stop for the family back home before taking the stage at our friends Camber Inc’s booth at the 2023 Essen Motor Show– Slammed and showcased front and center for the week-long extravaganza, the Narwhal Blue boosted family hauler was the guest of honor for the private party and hid it’s jet lag better than anyone there.

If you haven’t seen photos of this feat of a machine yet, below you’ll find every angle of it in its latest form. This is the first of many builds with us and R44 Performance, we respect their continued viewpoint of not stopping until it stops the show– What’s next? Who knows, but it’ll be full bolt ons before its first oil change.

Going back to 2010 at our first Camber event in Europe, Marius and his team have always taking the event space by storm with an out-of-the-box approach. No two event setups are the same and the individualism in each element is a perfect marriage with the Vossen brand. We’re beyond stoked to announce our collaboration with Camber and have a slew of events on tap to hit the European markets with fresh content. What better place to launch the collaboration than at Essen Motorshow!

Camber approached us with an open element booth design with a rooftop area for activations and plenty of room for branding– we wanted to have a touch of Miami to the design elements for the second phase, so the retro wave inspired artwork was a must for the Miami Vice relation. On top of exclusive merch and promotional items, we showcased our unreleased S21-08 on the R44 M3 Touring. This car, although big enough to haul the trailer for the booth supplies, fit right at home in the front of the booth– if the size wasn’t enough for people to spend time looking at, the hood of the M3 stayed at home to showcase their brand-new turbo kit for the platform.

I’ve gotten to know Danny a bit since my move to Miami a few years ago. Immediately it was clearly apparent how well respected he is down here. As the owner of “Slammered INC” (@slammered on IG) he’s created some truly amazing builds.  From the east coast to the west, Danny has a list of various award winning completed projects. In addition his built Infiniti G35 is one of the most well known in the community!

Slammered‘s G35 has a few obvious features its modified. I think the biggest one is the Porsche “Signal Green” paint. It wasn’t as easy as just buying paint and just spraying but Danny is one hell of a problem solver when it comes to modifying cars!

Note all the wide fenders front and rear. Fabricated by Danny himself, they completely alter the stance of this Accuair bagged G35. Everything fits absolutely perfect and the paint matches like it was OEM!

The all new Vossen x Work wheels were custom built to Danny’s specifications. With an Anodized Bronze Lip with a Matte Gunmetal Center they contrast with the Signal Green paint.

Fitment is on the money and the overall look is spectacular. Sizes are 20×10 in the front and 20×12 in the rear with negative offsets.

Under the hood you have a custom engine setup with upgraded turbos. Danny’s G35 now makes around 670hp! Note how clean the engine bay is!

Inside no stone was left unturned as he completely gutted out the interior to make it as light as possible A full rollcage with Bride Seats hint greatly at the intent of this G35.

Out back a custom APR Carbon Fiber wing was added to help with downforce. It also looks quite the part on this widebody G35! It was great to be able to spend some time learning more about Danny, his shop Slammered and his G35. The “Green Goblin” was one of my favorite vehicles to feature in 2016!

To say we have a close relationship with RS-R would be an understatement. From working on top project cars together like the “Instabuilt RC F” to both companies manufacturing their top of the line products in-house we share many similarities even though we are worlds apart!  RS-R debuted their wild Scion FR-S powered by a Ford Coyote V-8 previously on the West Coast and after some planning decided to bring it to the East Coast!

RS-R is otherwise known as the “master of height” as they produce some of the top suspension components in the world. We have used their spring and coilover suspensions in multiple projects and have always raved about the high quality of the parts as well as their ease of use and of course ability to slam our Vossen equipped cars. For those that are more interested in racing, they have won multiple sporting championships across the globe in racing and Formula Drift. 

After working together at Nitto Enthusiast Day in Dallas, we decided to also work together at Formula D Orlando where their 19″ VFS-2 equipped was parked with the RS-R and Vossen booths. Attendees were stunned to see that big V-8 shaped into this small Scion and of course hearing that deep V-8 sound. From there Ben Chong, director of new business development, had the FR-S brought down to Miami to the Vossen Forged Factory!

After arriving we put the 450hp plus FR-S on our lift to not only to conduct a closer inspection of their build but to also measure the vehicle since they will be upgrading from our Flow Formed Technology VFS-2 wheels to one of our new 19″ Vossen Forged Wheels!  Sticky Nitto NT05 tires keep this super quick FRS planted to the pavement!

Huge big brakes from AP Racing courtesy of our friends at Stillen give this much more powerful FR-S the stopping power it needed. We measured the FR-S so we can ensure not just perfect fitment but maximum concavity for their new set of Vossen Forged Wheels.

Its also great to see it with a manual transmission, a direct swap from the Ford Boss 302! The transmission obviously is perfectly matched to the Ford engine but its in a Scion! The JDM Steering wheel adds a distinct touch with nice carbon fiber accents. I have to agree, it is the “ultimate street car”!

Its always awesome to be able to show people our Vossen Forged Factory and here Ben and I looked at some new forged wheels being made as well as discussing colors and finishes for their #bossfrs.

We have visited RS-R’s factory and production facility in Osaka, Japan and learned quite a bit there, like all their coilovers are hand assembled. In our TUV verified factory, all our wheels are hand finished with all center caps also hand assembled.

This picture reminds me, hey Ben, I need that shirt!

We reviewed multiple styles including our new Vossen LC-Series and soon to be released CG-Series. Afterwards we also reviewed VossenxWork wheel options which we had on display.

For our latest installment of the “Vossen Owner Spotlight” we feature Maria Gaston (@Maril_lala on Instagram with over 200k followers!), a long time car enthusiast pursuing her law degree and currently driving a highly modified Mitsubishi Evo VIII on 19″ Vossen VFS-1 Wheels and Nitto NT05 tires. After meeting Maria for the first time we soon realized she was a true gear-head with a huge passion for cars, specifically the EVO!

Since an early age Maria has been into cars influenced by her hardcore Military based family as some of her earliest memories involved playing every car based video game around. When it came time for a vehicle, she had her heart all set on the Mitsubishi EVO! This is actually her THIRD EVO VIII and she got more involved with the build process this go round.

Taking a bit over 12 months to build and get to this point, Maria worked with DMT Tuning and AG Autosports to modify her engine, interior, suspension and exterior. One of her favorite modifications is the FP Black upgraded turbos which helped gets her from the stock 280hp rating to over 500hp! Maria’s EVO is now extremely quick and matched with the upgraded 5 speed manual offers her and everyone riding plenty of thrills!

Maria told us she needed to install new brake pads so we offered our lift for her to use and figured it would be pretty cool to capture her once again working on her car. After a quick change, she quickly got to work and before you know it the 19″ VFS-1 wheels were off and she was working on her front brake pads.

Speaking of the wheels, Maria is currently on a set of Vossen VFS-1’s in matte graphite measuring 19×9.5 front and rear and sit perfectly flush with the car. Her wheels also are a “Mid-Concave” design, offering a nice concave look instead of the usual flat faces in these widths. Credit our “Flow Forming” Technology to make this happen. The VFS-1’s are wrapped in sticky Nitto Tire NT05′s measuring 235/35ZR/19. Nitto makes some of the best tires in the high performance import tuner market and the NT05 continues a long tradition of high performance Nitto Tires.

After about an hour, Maria was all done swapping out to new brake pads and the team at Vossen saw first hand how she helps modify and build her car. Maria also wants to thank the teams at AMS Performance, Fortune Auto, RodWraps, RodSpeed and Status Racing for helping keep her build going. Whats next? How about a built block to handle over 800hp and some Vossen x Work VWS-1 wheels….stay tuned!

In the business of “Good People”…I think Wayne’s comment in the video below resonated with me because he is absolutely right. Good people in business are the foundation to amazing relationships, amazing outcomes and amazing experiences. We can promote all of the most amazing cars and wheels in the world but it all begins with Good People.

To his point, we originally wanted to shoot a white Lexus LFA Nurburgring edition but understandably it will remain in a museum. Enter Wayne (good people) and PCNY who I just happened to meet a couple of weeks earlier through John at Lou La Vie (good people). He calls me to say he is going to drive a LFA from NYC to LA for a track event. When I asked when was he leaving, he said today lol.

Since I also happen to be the forum administrator for the Lexus Enthusiast, I spoke to Kevin Watts (good people) and knew this was a unique opportunity to track the car real time to share with our forum members. You can see the thread here as Wayne text me pics of his entire trip!

Since the car was on the West Coast and we wanted to showcase some cars outside the Mandarin Oriental for our #vossenskylounge some “good people” came together. PCNY and @Trade_Coin (the owner of the LFA & also Good People) decided to wrap the car matte black and it needed to be done in time for SEMA.

Clark at VIP Auto Salon (good people) got Harry at Nitto (good people) involved who supplied new tires as well as transport. Clark had to drive 60 miles one way and back to get the tires and then get the Vossen Forged VPS-305T wheels ready for the LFA. This happened the weekend before SEMA and by Monday the car was on the way to Vegas!

The combination of the satin black matte wrap and satin bronze Vossen Forged VPS-305T wheels really gives the car a “Mad Max” look, especially when we shot on location in the Las Vegas desert. Driving around the city, the car broke necks everywhere we went and the one of a kind exhaust sound gave grins wherever we were. Sized 20×9.5 and 20×12 on sticky Nitto tires, the LFA in our eyes has never looked better.

For SEMA week it was used as a highlight vehicle for Vossen and PCNY and even used as transport for our VIP clients. The best part? Getting the chance to drive my dream car throughout Las Vegas and hearing that engine sound inside the cabin. It was an experience I will never forget and all this came together because of “Good People”.

We meet so many amazing people from all over the world here at Vossen and in some instances we get to really know someone and their story. Last year around this time Larry Harrison,  “@the_undrdg“, and myself started to trade messages through instagram and with an upcoming trip for the EVS Motors/Vossen Meet as well as Wekfest, we got a chance to meet in person since he currently resides in Houston, Texas. Instantly we seemed to click and while obviously cars were the mutual connection, it was for many other reasons the vibe was good; respect for others, love of electronics, passion to be the best and love of food!

At the time his S5 was mildly modded on CV3 wheels, not bad, but no neck breaker and surely not magazine worthy. At the last minute we were able to have his S5 parked with us inside our vendor area at Wekfest and it seemed to spark something inside for Larry to take his car build to the top of the game. The orange S5 above is now the jaw-dropping S5 below!

For the next few months it seemed like every week Larry was changing something to his car. As he states in the Vossen Owners Spotlight video, he was tired of seeing his car not get real respect in the car game so he decided to completely elevate his build.

In just a short time nothing was left untouched from the new Nardo Grey paint, to the new sound system to the air suspension. He also added a bodykit, exhaust and other small modifications.

Larry even jumped from CV3 wheels to our new flow formed VFS-1 wheels but knew he needed that true custom touch to separate his S5 from the rest. Enter our #madeinmiami Vossen Forged : Precision Series. Larry’s heart was set on our revolutionary 15 spoke directional VPS-304.  We then discussed various colors and he decided on new matte clear finish which compliments the Nardo Grey exterior perfectly (update he has now gotten them re-finshed in full polish with a diamond cut face). Sized 20×10.5 front and rear to tuck under the air suspension, the results are absolutely magnificent. Larry states the number one modification people ask him about are his wheels.

You are probably wondering why we have pictures of Larry’s car in Miami? Well his squad decided to drive from Houston to Miami for a car show in July. We got to give them a personal tour of the Vossen Forged Factory where his wheels are made and we decided to shoot his car on those beautiful white rocks with Miami in the background. A run to Publix for some sandwiches and drinks kept us from complaining of the 100 degree humid weather as we completed his video and photoshoot. It was great to once again hang with Larry and get to know his squad a bit better.

Its been amazing to not just be a part of his build in regards to our Vossen Forged wheels but to watch his passion and vision develop so quickly. We now consider Larry and his crew family! Larry’s S5 is now winning multiple awards at shows and you can read his story in the November issue of Performance VW! His Instagram account has gone from around 350 followers to over 7,000 as Larry has chronicled his S5 journey and unlike most accounts, he goes into great detail over decisions made. Next up are Wekfest Houston and he plans to come back to Miami with more changes!

Hopefully this story inspires those that feel like they are unappreciated in their car scene and visualize themselves making an impact in the game. Never count out the underdog!!!

That is correct, this bagged, upgraded interior with all the bells and whistles was built partially by Nax over nearly two years. Not afraid to tackle the biggest of tasks, his first modification was the JDM ELGRAND E52 conversion front end that consists of the following; Fenders, Bumper, Headlights, Front Lip, Fog Lights and custom one off grill by his friends at ProFab.  Well technically his first modification was the van, since he bought the JDM front end before he bought his Quest!

Nax then attacked the rear end which features a custom Lexus LS 460 mash-up with a custom dual exhaust. Huge D2 racing big brakes front and rear were also added in yellow to give the black van some pop and of course additional braking power. Talk about giving your ride some original flavor and style!

The interior was also completely upgraded as well featuring a full custom black and suede interior including the headliner and carpet which was done by E3 Customs. Nax also replaced the stock steering wheel with one from a 2013 Nissan Murano which he also added custom suede too. Black leather isn’t an option with the Quest so this is another original touch done by Nax and we feel it is the way to go over the stock colors.

Finishing things off, the car is bagged on Airtekk custom bags/struts with Viair compressors and gauges with Air Runner manual switches. Also note the custom front splitter, side skirts, and Elgrand door sills and window visors from Japan. There is simply no other Nissan Quest in the world quite like this one and he needed the perfect wheel compliment for his new daily. Enter the Vossen VFS-1.

Measuring 20×10.5 front and rear in our matte graphite finish, the VFS-1 with its open 10 spoke design allows those big D2 brakes to be showcased while added an elegant flair to the black body of this van. Aired out, this vehicle looks mesmerizing in pictures, video and in person. Nax reps everywhere he goes and it was pretty cool to see him winning at shows like Wekfest Miami in his custom van on Vossen’s.

To be completely honest it was an absolute pleasure to work with Nax to feature his Nissan Quest/ElGrand Conversion. He’s always in good spirits and can be seen at multiple meets in South Florida hanging with his crew and making moves.
