James McDonnell, most famously known as @lordmcdonnell, is always changing things up with his fleet of cars, and his Porsche 991 GT3 on Vossen Forged ML-R1 wheels is no exception. Over the years we’ve worked with James on a variety of cars, from his Tesla Model S to the many variations of his BMW i8, and his taste has allowed us to outfit his cars with some very unique, sometimes trend-setting, looks and styles.

James’ Porsche 991 GT3 is fitted with 20×9 front and 20×12 rear Vossen Forged ML-R1 wheels. Being center lock, the GT3 typically lends itself to a more airy, open spoke design. The full-face ML-R1 design is quite unique just in the GT3 application, but when engineered for center lock it takes on a whole new look. A full polished finish with brushed face is kept in its original luster with gloss clear transparent powder coat, creating a show-stopping contrast against the gloss black GT3 body.

What better way to wrap up the #TAGtakeover than with this stunning Miami Blue Porsche 991.2 GT3 on Vossen Forged GNS-1 Center Lock Wheels!? One of the Vossen Forged lineup’s newest additions, the GNS Series is defined by a groove in the rim and sleek, minimal contours and spoke designs. A satin black finish, powdercoated in Vossen’s Miami-based forged wheel manufacturing facility is mated to the GT3’s Miami Blue body and Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes (PCCB) with a center lock fastener, proprietary to Porsche. TAG Motorsports has added an array of carbon bits around the car to tie the aesthetic together, while a beachfront location was the perfect west coast setting for this Miami Blue beauty!

Zalasin, having raced and collected his share of Porsches and various other exotic and desirable cars over the years, and White, having worked with Mercedes, McLaren, and Speedhunters, to name a few, are no strangers to the automotive community. Together, they’ve traveled the world, driving some of the most prestigious stretches of tarmac in the world. In fact, this very GT3 RS has even seen some time on the Nurburgring!

The weekend after SEMA, our friends at Optima Batteries (@optimabatteries) hosted their annual Ultimate Street Car Invititational (#OUSCI) at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. We’re no strangers to the OUSCI, as our Renntech-built (@renntech) Mercedes-Benz E63 competed in the event last year (photos here).

This year, however, we chased Andrew and the VPS-303-clad GT3 RS around the various challenges that take place as part of Optima’s event. From the speed stop challenge to the full road course, Andrew tore it up in the GT3 RS, competing against a very diverse field of cars, from classic Corvettes to Mitsubishi Evos.

After the OUSCI we ventured off into the Las Vegas desert to spend some much-needed alone time with the Porsche duo. As the sun settled behind the mountains we snapped away, with a whole crew of cameras in full force (thanks again to Cliff (@timeatk) and LightCapturers (@lightcapturers) and Danny Batista (@dannybatista) for the support!). With light dwindling and our bodies running empty, we finally called it a night, a weekend, and yet another successful trip to Las Vegas for SEMA, and that was a wrap for our weekend with Andrew Zalasin (@zalasin) and Elizabeth White (@itswhitenoise) of ITSWHITENOISE!

We would like to thank BBI Autosport (@bbiautosport) for the great hospitality and last-minute help with getting the new wheels fitted to the GT3 RS and GT4, you guys rock!
