Today we hosted our Vossen Forged Inaugural Tour. We’ve given private tours before, but this is the first time that we’ve invited people publicly, via Instagram, to come see the magic behind the wheels we make in our TUV-Verified wheel factory. Our Marketing Director, Mike Forsythe, joined by our Plant Manager, Al Williford, walked today’s guests through each step of the Vossen Forged manufacturing process, from measuring a car all the way to pulling the freshly powdered wheels from the 400° oven!
After three years of development, we are finally putting the finishing touches on the factory, from a lift dedicated to measuring vehicles all the way to in-house powder coating and polishing—and everything in between.
Mike and Al walked our guests through each step of machining, from the 200-pound proprietary forging down to a 20-something-pound finished wheel, demonstrating every aspect of what makes a Precision Series wheel stand apart from and outperform other manufacturers.
And while we did supply a mountain of pizza for lunch, the only thing that bakes in this giant oven is wheels!
